The first specialized technical college entrance examination for social work teachers was conducted on March 26, 2013. Graduates from the Department of Criminal Justice of Ming Chuan University, including HUNG,YAO-SHENG (grade 103), LIAO,WAN-CHUN (grade 104), CHEN,WAN-TZU (grade 108), LI,I-CHIEH (grade 108) and WU,PO-YING (grade 108), and HUANG,TZU-I (grade 108), ranked high on the list. The National Army’s “113 First College Entrance Examination for Social Work Teachers Sprint Class” assisted by Hung, Wen-Ling also achieved good results, admitting KUO,HAN-LIN, FU,WEN-YU, YEN,SUNG-CHING, YANG,TZU-CHIEH, and CHOU,CHIA-JU. and 5 other students.
Chang, Kuang-Ming, Director of the Department of Criminal Justice, stated that the development plan of the Department of Criminal Justice of Ming Chuan University integrates the knowledge and abilities of the three major modules of “crime prevention and control, public safety, and judicial social work”, and graduates who complete professional courses meet the actual needs of the current safety management industry. In addition to arranging professional courses in the department, we also assisted in setting up a special course for promoting the professional certification of social workers, which was highly praised. Since the Department of Criminal Justice of Ming Chuan University has qualified its own students for the college entrance examination as social work instructors, a total of 31 alumni have passed the exam so far. Among them, Teacher Tai, Shih-Mei actively encouraged students to participate in the exam, expanding the employment prospects of students in the department, and achieving remarkable results; On March 29th, Teacher Hung, Wen-Ling also gave an interview to TVBS, discussing topics such as the training of social workers and their future prospects.
The country holds an annual vocational college entrance examination for social workers, with a certification system for social workers to ensure the quality of social service professionals. So far in Taiwan, those with a social worker license are still unable to meet the needs of relevant units, and social welfare institutions are facing a serious shortage of social workers. Students who aspire to the field of social welfare are welcome to join the ranks of social workers.
