Ming Chuan University stated that the planned escalator will be set up in the central stairway of the Taipei campus, connecting the school gate of Zhongshan North Road and the main teaching area. The escalator is expected to start construction in the second half of 2025. After completion, it will greatly improve the convenience of traffic. It will also be the longest and highest-standard escalator in Taiwan’s campus.

Ming Chuan University said that the escalator will be combined with solar photovoltaic technology and a solar power generation canopy will be set up simultaneously, which will have the functions of sunshade and rain shelter and green energy power supply, and will also provide lighting and electricity simultaneously. The school will continue to review the vertical lines between the teaching buildings, plan more escalator facilities, integrate the existing barrier-free elevators and docking systems, and comprehensively promote the goal of eliminating stairs on campus.
